New Custom Nikes: Hiphop Archive AF1s

May 21, 2008

What’s good everyone?

Check out the latest pair of Lost Soles Customs, done for The Hiphop Archive, now a part of the W.E.B. Du Bois Institute at Harvard University.  I do the web design work for The Archive, and wanted to give them something for the opening of the new Archive at Harvard.  The black/gray graffiti texture on the dark panels is inspired by the website designs, and the HHA initials are on the heel.  Check them out on our site at: http://www.lostsolescustoms.com/hhaaf1.html. Let me know what you think.

New Custom Shoes: Splatters Women’s Fleet Center 20s

February 29, 2008

What’s up everyone. Check out the newest pair of customs, Splatters Fleet Center 20s, with a Pink/White splatter design on some White/Pink Nike Fleet Center 20s. I really like the whole “controlled chaos” look that came out of this design, and I got to experiment with a ton of different paint splattering techniques, which was nice.

The best part about these shoes, however, was that they were a lot of fun to make, and I didn’t even do a lot of the work! My girlfriend jumped in and did some of the painting, and my good friend Boogie (who the shoes were for) jumped in and did most of the splatters on one of the shoes too. So I definitely can’t take all the credit for these kicks, it was just a fun collaborative effort.

New Customs: Rorschach AF1s

February 7, 2008

What’s up everyone? Check out the latest pair of Lost Soles Customs, the Rorschach AF1 Lows. The design was inspired by the Rorschach inkblot test patterns (you know, the “tell me what you see” psychological test, as seen on the latest season of I Love New York… sad when that might be the best example to give). With these shoes, I got to experiment with some new techniques and ideas, which I’ll go into a bit more in my “The Making Of: Rorschach AF1s” post that will come in a bit.

Here’s a slightly more artistic pic…

And here are some with a flash and everything so you can see the all of the colors a bit better.
